Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was only five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and went to at the Dragon School. Since the age of 6 Emma decided that she wanted to become an actress. Over several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied the art of acting and dancing. When she was ten, she had appeared and played the role of lead in a number of Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the film version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was cast for the first for the first time on January 1, 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through an Oxford teacher. After eight continuous auditions, producers David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It broke all records in first-day openings and weekday openings as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. The film was praised by critics and its performances by the three young stars. The popular British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the Most Outstanding Young Actress in a Feature Film. Emma was recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
